Bleeding from bottom

My 2 yo son has had diarreah for 3 days initially with fever, mucus and blood flecked in stool, still drinking as normal, eating diminished, has started as of 5 hours ago bleeding from somewhere in there, 2 nappies with approx 1/2 cup of blood and now passed wind with blood coming out too. Went to local hospital and they said not to worry, keep up fluids and give powder acidophilous, urine alchilizer and nappy rash cream as the area is very red and raw. Is this enough? i feel worried, help
