Diabetes- dizziness

Hi,

My Father is diabetic for the last 12 years..he was on medicine..recently his blood sugar went upto 716 ..he was hospitalised..they started 30/70 mixtard insulin..his sugar level is better..but he feels sleepy..he takes 20mg insulin in morning and 15 mg in night..when will he regain strength..what we can do ??

As his sugars get back to normal on a regular basis he will regain his energy pretty quickly.  Keep in mind that 700 is 7 times the normal amount and he has a long way to go but the recovery can be quick if the levels are kept normal.  Monitor that sugar is the best thing to do.  If the levels are not back to normal see the Dr. again for dose changes to get it right.
