Am I eating too much or the wrong things after Surgery?

by Lindrew, Jan 20, 2008 09:12PM
I had my Lap band Surgery done on Jan. 8, 2008, and I am eating the soups, jello, sugar free chocolate pudding, the protein drinks.  I eat a lot of egg drop soup, but I can actually chew chicken.  I have the Chinese take out put some chicken in it like they would with the chicken soup.  So I eat that, and I also had a small can of tuna today and didn't blend it.  I don't like the puree texture.  I can chew my  chewable vitamins.  I just hope I am not consuming too much food.  I don't feel hungry when I do, I have my foods I listed and then I am good.  I know I am having protein to fill me up.  I am just confused here.  I have not gotten sick to this point.  Everything seems to agree with me!  I just chew and take it easy.

Thats because you havent had your fill yet. After you have your fill you will feel the restriction. You can go into lapbandtalk.com and get lots of answers. I am going to get the band in 4/08 I cant wait.

how long after you had your surgery did you start eating soup.  I just had my surgery on 4-4-08 and am eating just sugar free jello and water.  What kind of drinks do you drink?  I don't feel to much hunger but I do crave another flavor in my mouth.

The band is made to help guide you to make the right eating choices by restricting your food intake but it's still just as much diet and exercise after - don't forget that. It's easy to hit a plateau also. After a year I still don't get full after eating, but I still have problems eating food.
