Benign Fasiculations or?....

by Phoebe32, Jan 21, 2008 01:39PM
I'm a 33 year old female who's been suffering from muscle twitches, mostly in the soles of my feet for 7 years now. (since 2001) I occasionally get the twitches in my arms, legs, tongue, cheeks, jaw, etc, and also now frequently get them in my  hands. I've had 3 emgs over the course of 6 years, and all were normal.
Several months ago I had another emg to see how things were going, and the neurologist noted that the exam was "normal" with the exception of isolated increased amplitude in the right foot sole and also "polyphasia". I also had "upgoing toes" upon clinical exam. He told me that everything is fine but I did research on what was found and according to everything I've read, increased amplitude, polyphasia and a positive babinski indicate a neurological disorder. My question is, are these ever findings associated with Benign Fasiculation Syndrome?, or should I go back and talk with the doctor or see another doctor regarding the emg findings? Are these signs of early ALS?
Thank you.
