NECK MASS

had 3 dental implants done in april 2007. used peridex oral rinse. developped black mouth that resolved. increased mucus to nasal passsages of a whitish color persist. about 2 months ago developped neck mass mimicking branchial cleft cyst. weeks later, it grew over 2 weeks, became as large as a golf ball maybe a bit bigger. blood work including white blood cell count. resolving now to a small 1X2 cm 6. had a biopsy and ct scan stating it looked like an unusually complicated cyst. we are thinking maybe more an inflamatory/ infectious type cyst.  I also had a bout of perioral dermatitis two month prior to cyst.. I am awaiting for an ultrasound . do you suggest any other treatments or tests.

The usual workup for a neck mass includes imaging (CT scan, ultrasound, MRI for example), blood work and definitely a biopsy.  It is likely that once all the information has been obtained, your doctor will provide you with a diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
