Help.  I need some success stories for those who have conceived on Bromocriptine (Parledol) that restores fertility due to high prolactin levels.  Been TTC for 18 months, been on Bromo. for 2 months and no period yet.  Not pregnant. Id really appreciate some success stories to keep me from being so down, and give me hope.

Many thanks to all.

TP1359,
many of my patients have conceived on bromocriptine.  the first step is to adjust the bromocriptine dose to normalize prolactin levels. also, make sure TSH levels are normal as well, since low thyroid can increase prolactin levels, and in this case, bromocriptine would be fixing only half the problem. if prolactin and thyroid levels are normal and you still have not conceived, best do an evaluation for other causes of infertility, including a semen analysis, HSG to check fallopian tubes and uterus, and FSH and estradiol levels to evaluation ovarian reserve (how many eggs you have left).  if all this is normal, and you still are not getting pregnant, seek treatment for unexplained infertility, with clomid and iui's or FSH and iui's. good luck and don't give up hope. david

Hi!  I too am on Bromocriptine for a small pituitary tumor.  My doc was monitoring the tumor, which was not growing.  When I was planning my wedding, I told her I was thinking of trying for a child soon after the wedding.  She then put me on Bromocriptine.  IT took several months to make the dosage correct, my periods were irregular prior to the correct dosage.  I have been TTC for 18 months now and I am on my second round of clomid.  So, we shall see if the bromocriptine and clomid will work.  I certainly don't think I can take another let down!
