I have had Norplant implanted in my arm for 9 years, it is supposed to be taken out after 5 can I still get pregnant?

Yes you can. The amount of progestin left in the rods by now is so low that you can likely get pregnant. Are your periods regular? The rods should be removed.

Hello I also had the norplantNorplant system but I got rid of it after the 5th year 4 1/2 yrs ago. Right after the NorplantNorplant system i took the pill for a year so I have been clean for abou 3 yrs and 1/2 and I have not been able to get pregnant don't know why. Dr says I'm fine and DH is fine also. I blame it on the the NorplantNorplant system though.
