Bleeding during sex

by gena35, May 19, 2007 12:00AM
I have been ttc for 7 months after being on BC for 8 yrs. After several months with no period my doctor proscribed provera, and I've had 2 normal periods (at 38 days) since. Recently I had some bleeding during intercourse and my cervix felt slightly swollen.I was wondering if it could have been ovulation or perhaps something more that should be looked into. I only experienced it once and just want to be cautious...thank you

First, it is not written in stone but we consider by definition the upper limit of normal every 35 or less ( but >21), as normal menstrual cycle range. Second, you should be having pap smears every year and we hope that it would have picked up anything concerning. It is not uncommon to have some mid-cycle spotting at the time of the LH surge, but to be on the safe side it might be best just to let your physician know and do a speculum exam.
Hope this helps,
JM
