Hi,
My husband and I have decided that next month we are going to try again after losing our son last month at 20 weeks to a cord accident (when he was born the cord was wrapped twice TIGHTLY around his neck-all genetic and chromosonal testing came back normal on him).
Trying again means going back to our RE, doing injectables, and an IUI. Fortunately the two other times we've done it with her we've gotten pregnant, miscarried at 6 weeks, then this last time made it to 20 with this freak accident.
Wondering if there are any precautions that we can take to prevent something horrible like this from happening again. I've heard that you shouldnt put your arms over your head? I'm just really nervous about having this happen twice and wondering if there is ANYTHING at all I should look for or can do.

I think I have emailed you before. I can only imagine how anxious you must feel. Unless something medical has come up to point to a cause that can be treated, there really is nothing more that you can do. If you think about it, putting your arms over your head will have absolutely no effect on movement of your uterus, or in your uterus, so avoiding putting your arms over your head is not going to make a difference.
Once you are far enough along in pregnancy, doing fetal kick counts (sitting down and actually counting how often you feel movement or kicking) is one way you can tell if everything is OK.
