Removing band

Anyone know anyone who has removed the lapband? I have had some terrible experience -- so tight I nearly drowned in my own saliva for 24 hrs and no one in ER could do anything because they didn't have the needle to release the saline. Happened again...I am done with it. Lots of money down the tubes. The surgeons were terrific, the after care diabolical.
Does anyone know anyone who had it removed and if so was it done laprascopically or was it more invasive, slice you open kind of stuff .

Who did you use? I know if you go into lapbandtalk.com you can get a lot of info.
