No heart beat at 6wks

by Babybluey20, Jan 23, 2008 09:44PM
Hi, I went for my first vaginal sono today.  I found out I am 6wks and 1 day.  I am a little worried though.  This is my first pregnancy and have no idea what I am looking at.  The doctor would not comment on anything, she just kept saying it's still early.  I have to go back next Tuesday for another one.  They said there should be a heart beat by then.  The sono shows that there is a sac but I'm worried.  I don't see anything inside of it.  I'm sorry if I sound so niave but I'm so lost!!  Is it normal to not see or hear a heart beat yet??  I've tried comparing my sono to other sono's at my stage on the internet but they're all different!  It just looks like one black blob.  We've been trying for years now and went through fertility treatment (our first one) and I am so scared!! Any advice would help!
Thanks!

Oh, I found out I was pregnant on the 9th. My HCG was 50 and my progesterone was 3. They put me on progesterone suppositories and I had some minor spotting at the time. I went back on the 11th and my HCG was 96 and my progesterone was only 5. They then started me on Progesterone in oil injections along with the progesterone suppositories.  I went again on Monday, the 14th and my HCG was 211 and my progesterone was 29!!  They then did the vaginal ultrasound and drew more blood.  I'm so nervous!!!  Again, any help or advice out there?  Does this sound some what normal?

Did you doctor say it was normal?  My first u/s was performed at 8w2d, they said I measured 7w5d. By that time you could see my little peanut and see the heartbeating.  Try not to stress, my sister saw the same thing at 6w, they only saw a tiny sac.  She had a healthy lil baby boy.

I just got off the phone with my doctor.  They said my HCG was 511 and my progesterone was in the 40's.  They didn't say this was good or bad.  They just said they would like to see the HCG a little higher than it is.  I have to go back next Tuesday for another ultrasound and hcg test.  Is this a sign of miscarriage???  This is my first pregnancy and I'm scared to death!!

At 6w1d for me my baby's hb was only 89 which is very low. She said it must have just started beating. Now I'm 23 weeks. It may start beating today and hopefully you will see a strong hb next Tuesday. GOod Luck

but is it ok to have such low HCG levels?  I know I'm worrying too much but it drives me nuts.  We have been wanting this for SO long now.  I've read that my HCG's should be above 1000 by now.  I just hope everything is ok.
