pacemaker sugery same day as

My Grandmother is in the hospital and was told she has to have a pacemaker before they will do dialysis anymore on her. She was suppose to have surgery this morning but the paper work was not filed. They sent he to dialysis anyway and scheduled her to have the pacemaker put in this afternoon. Isn't that a bit much for the same day. Her health is REALLY going down hill and I don't think it's a good idea. What's one more day in the hospital and wait until tomorrow to put the pacemaker in.
I JUST got an update... they took her straight from dialysis to surgery... they didn't even let her recover...

Dialysis is tiring. Insertion of a pacemaker isn't too bad since it's done under light sedation. But I do wonder why the big rush. Is her heart that sluggish that she would have been in danger to wait another 12-24 hours? Let us know how she does. It shouldn't take long.
