Hi,
I'm not sure if i'm on the right forum because the ones that were more specific to my question were full for the day.
My husband and I are trying to get pregnant after suffering through 3 miscarriages, the last one being particularly traumatic. I had miscarried as 6 weeks and haemorrhaged very severely. My doctor diagnosed me as having a underactive cervix, what he meant was that my cervix had exhausted itself contracting to expel the fetus that it was too tired to contract enough to stop the bleeding. With this is mind, we have talked about having a c-section. My family history is indicative or recurrent miscarriages from my mother's side, my mother, grandmother, aunt and sister all had recurring miscarriages as well as haemorrhaging after delivery, my sister so severely that her second child was delivered by c-section on doctors orders. My doctor is not keen on booking a caeserean, she wants us to wait and see how labor goes, however with all previous medical history working against us, do you think I have the right to demand a c-section based on family medical history?

thanks for your reply, problem is I live in the middle east and they're not that wild about "unnecessary surgery" here,, if an emergency arose they would be more than willing, the only way to guarantee a c-section is is to go private which costs a fortune and there are only 2 reputable private hospitals in my country.
