Bleach Fumes Inhaled

by dak234, Jan 27, 2008 09:21PM
I've had a recurring cough for about 6 months that comes and goes since I sprayed a mix of bleach and water in a pump sprayer under my house to remove mold from the crawl space.  After about 15 minutes I gave up spraying as a bad idea without a mask.  I never finished the job, however, since then I've had a cough that suddenly erupts from what feels like a small amount of mucus that falls into my airway.  I have to clear my throat constantly.  A sudden minor cough sometimes escalates and gets very bad.  I've attributed the mucus cough to my sinuses draining into my throat.  Around the same time I also started having heavy nose bleeding from up inside my left nostril. The ER doctor who treated me attributed the bleeding to the strength of aspirin I take daily with Plavix for my heart disease.  But later a friend of mine suggested that my cough and nose bleeds started after spraying under the house.  I don't remember the timing and I didn't mention the spraying to my doctor, so it possible that these conditions can be due to just 15 minutes spraying the bleach solution?
