Herpes, dry skin, psoriasis, red 1mm spot on shaft

by alwaysworried1, Jan 28, 2008 06:49PM
Last night I noticed a tiny red spot on the top/middle of my penis shaft.  It wasn't highly noticeable, but I constantly obsess over my health and always check myself for abnormalities, thus noticed it.  The spot is small, about 1mm in size.  I put some peroxide on it and it fizzled a little bit.  It doesn't hurt or itch and my inguinal nodes are normal.  Today I looked at it with a magnifying glass and it looks like a spot of dry skin and there is no scab.  I called my doctor and he told me that my symptoms of one single 1mm lesion is more likely a clogged follicle (i.e. folliculitis) and not typical of herpes.  He suggested some otc cortizone cream.  I have suffered from all kinds of skin conditions in my life, psoriasis, eczema, ect, you name it.  I'm just a little concerned.  I haven't had any questionable sexual encounters and was tested about 2 years ago, all negative.  To be honest, I havent had any sexual contact in about 3 months.  Does this sound like something to be concerned about?  Any feedback would be appreciated!  Thanks!
