simultaneous outbreaks?

by jsc8220, Jan 28, 2008 11:34PM
My girlfriend and I were diagnosed with herpes in October, when we both developed sores for the first time on our genitals.  Her doctor and my doctor never ran a blood test for herpes because they believed it was definitely herpes, then we were tested for all other STD's and HIV and came up negative.  4 days ago (late January) my girlfriend began to develop soreness and a few sores again for the first time since October and strangely I began to have soreness and a small white pimple-like bump on my penis a couple days later for the first time since October as well.  She's on birth control and we had unprotected sex a day or two before she mentioned these symptoms.  I was just wondering if it was just a coincidence that we developed an outbreak nearly at the same time on both instances or if it could be some kind of bacterial infection passed between us?  Thanks for your help.

You don't really describe what your sores are but something sounds real weird here about both of you getting symptoms at the same time. The only possible way herpes could react by 2 people getting it at the same time is if you both had a threesome with someone who is HSV+ and he/she gave it to both of you. I would say get an IGG Test Herpes Select and you will both know. I am not saying you don't have this disease but it just seems like it needs more investigation.
