I can have a hearing aid in my operated ear but they dout it would help that ear .i want to get a stapendectomy that my family doc said health was fine for it. i would want the new laser surgery.the hearing doc said maybe get 50 percent out of it and i can at least have another hearing aid in it, How old is to old im  late 60.s.?

Hearing and percentages... 50% of what?  The way people explain hearing loss really baffles me.

Ok is 60 too old? I really have no idea, it reall is a matter of you health more than anything.

If you post your test results (complete) I may be able to help you. The deal is, if you have otoschlerosis and it inters the cochlea, then hearing aid and surgery are useless. If that is not the case, and it has only invaded your middle ear, than a hearing aid coupled with surgery should help.

You really have not posted enough information to determine anything.
