Hello. I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. There are many possible causes, some diabetes-related, some not. Diabetic retinopathy can cause that swelling, but it could also be a symptom of other problems. I would suggest for you to continue to work with your doctor to find the source of the problem.
