glucose reading

Went to doctor today do to having problem with my blood not cloting, but had to go to different doctor do to have very bad dizzy spells real sleep eyes not working as well as did.  I had nothing to eat since 8 last night doctor a 10 today glucose read 111 blood pres read 140 of 100.  she said to have a test done.  at dinner test on grandmother meter it read 140 is this bad.  both blood pres and diabetes run in family.  should i worry about this doctor never said what a normal none diabetics read is.

Are you going to an endocronologist?  That is a doctor that specializes in the endocrine system.  I am not sure wether you got diagnosed as diabetic or not?  Have you had a fasting glucose test?  I mean specific bloodwork done.  I think you might need to have that done first before you get worried.  Using your grandmother's glucometer can help you get an indication if your blood sugars are high--but again you need the bloodwork done in order to get true results and a diagnosis from a doctor.  When you test with your grandmother's glucometer you have to remember her meter could run the numbers a little high or low. AND make sure your hands are clean(wash them before you test) because if there is any residual sugar on them it will effect the test.
