abcesses and jaw bone infection

by mastermom, May 20, 2007 12:00AM
I was just diagnosed with 4 abcesses and had to have emergency tooth removal of 2 of the 4 teeth. The dentist informed me that the infection had spread into my jaw bone. Should I have it checked further to make sure all infection is gone? I broke my pelvis in 22 places and have missing bone and I am afraid the infection will spread there and I could really be in for big health problems

I do not feel that the infection will spread to your pelvis if the source of the infection is removed, which are the abscessed teeth.Any further swelling should be checked and the extraction area should be observed.

i think you may have interpreted incorrectly what the dentist meant. I would ask him to clarify what he said, and voice your concerns with him.
