Question about child's fixed dental expander

by Happy2girls, Jul 07, 2007 12:00AM
My 9 year old daughter had an expander placed in on Thursday and today was the first time we needed to adjust it.  My husband and I both tried to adjust it but after we get the key in the hole it is impossible to move, it seems stuck.  We don't want to place undo pressue on it and possibly hurt her.  We also don't want to make this any more unpleasant for her than it has to be.  Of course today being Saturday the ortho office is closed and we are leaving for a vacation tomorrow.  I am not sure what to do at this point, any suggestions?  Will any harm be done if no turns are made until we return in 10 days?

I would leave it as it is until you come back, then have her see the orthodontist. Have a great vacation!
