Herpes?/Time frames???????

The last time i had any sex was over 3 months ago. about two weeks ago i shaved my groin. a few days later i have a red bump on the upper part of my groin. Its only one red spot. it doesnt hurt or anything. it looks like a ingrown hair. How long would herpes take to show up is 3 months to long? and if it was a primary outbreak would it only be one red bump? How soon for an inital outbreak?

Herpes is a very tricky STI.  I agree with all of you on some points but the scary thing is that herpes can lay sleeping for years i had a ex that had herpes so i am not just talking about stuff i no not about. I have done a lot of learning on the subject. .The fact of matter is that if it is and you don't know yes it drives a person crazy because no one wants something to be wrong with them. So i am for points made on both sides.

first of all I would make sure this story is legit. My understanding is it is still tough to get it from someone who has it....but you need to get tested. I would wait at least 6 weeks....someone else probably can help you more....but I have been through that situation. I eventually got a tested multiple times....at 12 weeks and 17 weeks

You have a post going in the std forum, and Grace asked you to keep your post over there.  You do not have herpes, and you need to keep your posts in the STD forum.

You're in the military?  Okay, well, so am I.  So we both know how hard being in the military is on your body.  With all the PTing we have to do to keep in shape.  That's hard on our body.  Maybe it's just "growing" pains....

yeah i hear yeah.....nobody can figure out what these pains are and my general thinks i have herpes.....i showed him the blood tests.....that didnt seem to matter i guess cause he hasnt changed his minds......if it isnt herpes thats fine.....i can accept that...i just dont know whats going on....so i was just trying to see if anyone has the same pains. I understand that if you worry about stuff it can produce symptoms...its just that I will finally forget about it and some pains show up....so i dont think it is do to my mind thinking i have it....and you say let it go...i would if the pain would go away....I also have gotten the tingling everyonce in a while in the genitals....i also use to get it all over the body so i dont know what thay means.....its hard to explain. i get all these different type of pains/tinglings/burnings, its weird.....i actually moved on after my last blood test......then i started getting pains and symptoms going on....so who knows...

Pinched nerve?  Have you thrown your back out lately?  Hypochondria...it's when people believe they have something so greatly, that they're body actually produces symptoms similar to the actual ailment.

You had a brush risky sex right?  Let it go...if your tests came back negative,...just let it go.  It's going to make things a lot easier.

And when I had my first outbreak, I had sores and blisters, they hurt.  But that's about it.  I don't get any pain, I get a little tingling w/ prodrome symptoms, but other then that...nothing.

No, I don't have any symptoms due to my herpes. Most people are asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms.

It's fine if you don't "believe" in chronic pain states, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. You can also choose to believe the Earth doesn't rotate around the sun, but that wouldn't make your belief true, would it? If you have symptoms that don't disappear and that cannot be explained by a medical professional as due to a specific clinical condition, that's a chronic pain condition. They are treated with antidepressants (for obvious reasons).

Why don't you move on to the chronic pain forum or the urology forum? (If there is one.) Maybe they can help you. You are obviously done with the herpes angle, since you have zero clinical evidence of having herpes. Since you refuse to listen to what anybody here tells you, I'd say there's nothing more that can be offered to you in this realm, wouldn't you?

yeah i was asking you if you ever had that do to herpes.......i havent went to many doctors....my one doctor thinks i have it.....my general, the urologist doesnt have any idea....he figured all my problems was prostatitis so gave me meds twice now for it.....so i guess i dont know at this point.....just trying to see if people with herpes experience this pain......i read this is a symptom. Also i dont believe in that pelvic chronic syndrome...i dont think there is such a thing

Thanks.

You talking to me? I don't have any buttock or leg pain. Well, my hip hurts a little from a 23-miler I did a couple of weeks ago. Just a little ITB stuff, nothing 25 NSAIDs a day won't cure. :o)

You ARE getting answers from your doctors! If doctor-shopping for multiple opinions comes up with "no" answers, that is your answer - it is not physiologic in origin. It sounds like you have psychogenic groin syndrome, or whatever that depression-based chronic condition is in the pelvic region. Must suck to be you.

gottabelieve, are you also noclue? I tried changing my name to weberbarbecue, but it didn't work. (Kidding, kidding!)

Christine5150, it's possible that your thigh lesions are not where you were originally infected. In other words, you probably have had genital lesions and just never recognized them as such. Same goes for the husband. Who knows? Who cares? At this point, you have HSV2 cultures indicating you're positive. Since you both have it, it's not a big deal. You can't pass it to your son using minimal precautions, like grace mentioned in your other thread. Do we freak out about these things because they are sexually transmitted? Man, we live in a really f*cked up culture around sexuality. It's really pathetic.

i dont know whay your saying about your comment to me about the blood tests.......i didnt say they were always right or wrong......i dont know what to think.....but like waringblender said......you dont need to have the symptoms to have it. I dont know what to think about the blood tests....i guess believe them for now and figure out why i still get the pains and stuff

ok so lets say he brought it in. then that means he must have it on his genitals then why is my point of orgin on the back of my thigh and not my vagina? I don't understand the point of orgin? I am concerned about our son who is about 2 1/2 I am actually on the way out the door to the doc to get him tested because I don't know how long I have had it for. If we can pass it when we aren't broken out then there is a chance he could be infected with it because I had a vaginal delivery and I breast feed?

How could you give it to your husband without an outbreak? That's called asymptomatic shedding, and virtually everybody with herpes sheds the virus from time to time. It's also possible he brought the virus into your marriage and infected YOU. You don't need outbreaks to infect people. But you guys will probably never figure it out. Hell, they still don't know who killed Kennedy, for pete's sake. Trying to figure out who gave herpes to whom will spin you in circles. Happy Valentine's Day.
