adhd/bipolar

by bluejay003, Jan 30, 2008 09:10PM
Can my daughter have bipolar without being ADHD? Her ADHD meds only work sometimes..her mood swings are outragous..hitting, screaming, telling us to leave and not to come back, etcc...She is good in school..except that she goes and sits with the principal during lunch instead of going to play. She's only 5..What kind of meds can they use to treat her if she has bipolar? Can she have it even though my husband and I don't.

Our pediatrician just prescribed 12 hour release of adderall..Has anyone else tried this with their child? Like I said, my daughter is only 5.
