Nasal and throat polyps and allergies

My son is 9 years old and has had a problem with breathing through his nose since birth.  I have taken him to so many ETN specialists and he has had tubes 3 times, tonsilectomy, adenoids, and has had polyps in his nose cut out once.  We finally found some medicine that has tremendously helped him with allergies and snoring.  I had him tested for obstructive sleep apnea and they said there was no sleep disorder..but he had nasal polyps.  I for some reason decided to look in my son's throat and see what it looked like.  Well I saw several polyps in his throat.  So I looked in his nose also, and there are several there too.  I know these can be reoccuring.  Now I am freaking out and crying b/c everything I find about children and nasal/throat polyps says indication of Cystic Fibrosis!  I am making him an appointment Tomorrow for a check up with his Dr.  I am so upset...is it normal not to be diagnosed before age 9?  I have read up on it and its fairly easy to diagnose.  I am so scared.  He is perfectly healthy other than his nose problems.  He has tried to get the allergy testing done, but wouldnt let them ***** him. Are polyps and allergies connected?  Please tell me it is..I am really scared.
