Goodness gracious! I would never want to give up my diet cherry seven up! Or my diet Mountain-Dew. Heavens to mergatroid. Oh no!  That being said all of the artificial sweeteners have some history suggesting neurological damage. Six of one. Half a dozen of the other.  Probably this is caused by pinching a blood vessel or nerve when you are sleeping. There are other possible causes, but they are unlikely. A neurologist would be the person to see, but a specialist will often not see a patient unless they have a referal from a GP.
