scared

I really have to stop watching the baby delivery shows on Discovery Health and TLC..I am having a scheduled c section(thats the hospitals rule since I had one for my first childs birth).I know I went through it before, but after watching something yesterday Im paranoid. The mother was on the table for c section and as they were making incision she felt the pain.Well that freaked me out.I had no probs with my daughters delivery, but now seeing that has me thinking "oh no,what if i feel that"..Well with the woman ,they had to immediately put her under, and she wasnt able to hear the baby's first cry.I think that hurt her more than the incision did.I know Im probably just rambling, but I just keep getting convinced that everything that goes wrong on those shows is gonna happen to me.My first pregnancy was not this stressful. What a difference its making for me to be pregnant almost 14 years later.

I hear ya!  I am watching "special delivery" right now!!  Those things can freak you out.  Whats really upsetting to me is watching the preemie births.  While they are upsetting, those shows are definitly educating.  They will determine on the 21st if I am to have a C-Section (I have a vaginal septum due to having double uterus and double cervix) or if I will be able to deliver vaginally.  Giving birth either way is so scary!

Yes they do educate as well as frighten.I dont get alot of sleep,so when I wake up around 5 am I watch,as well as throughout the day....I wasnt nervous the first time because after a day of trying to induce me didnt work, they brought me back next day and said right then that i needed the c section. So I liked the fact that I didnt have a chance to really get nervous. Now watching these shows(combined with some fears due to some probs that have already come up with baby),Im extremely stressed.Im sure youre right that giving birth either way is scary, but once we see that lil one,we know it was all worth it.I know I cant wait to meet my lil boy... Good luck to you!

I know that you are worried, I have had two c-sections so far.  But remember, that woman had been trying to deliver her baby for 18 hours and than went into for the c-section for an emgerncy.  You will be fine for a schedlued c-section, they will make sure you cant feel anything.  I would be more nervous if I was having it naturally, that is what to me is so uncertain, I am soo happppppy to have a c-section, and to know what is going to happen.  Relax you are going to have a happy baby.. good luck!
