Vision Changes after Lens Replacement

My father had retinal detachment surgery 10 years ago. He developed cataracts in this eye ~ 1 year later. At this time, he had lens replacement surgery. He says that his vision through the artificial lens is magnified and that color is 15x brighter. He says that he is constantly aware of that eye and it feels as if he is looking through someone else's eye. He now says that in the last 3-4 days his vision through this eye has dramatically changed. It is no longer magnified and vision through his other eye is brighter. Do you have any idea what this could be from?
