lack of period... amennorhea maybe?

by iik8r, Feb 03, 2008 10:41PM
So I haven't had a period lately.  I'm not sure why and I'm not sure if its something I need to be worried about or not.  I didn't used to have the most regular periods, but for around a year it was pretty consistant.  Until now.  I wish I had kept better track of my periods before, but I didn't.  I think I've missed two periods.  The second one should have started (a rough estimate) mid to late January... so it's been at least two and a half months that I haven't had a period.  Maybe a little more? Here are the details...

-I know for a fact that I'm not pregnant.  I'm 100% sure.
-I am 20 years old.
-My BMI is around 20.5
-I have been on a very minor diet for a while.... but I've always made sure to get about 1700 calories.
-though I am a college student on a large campus with no car so I'd guess I walk 4-8 miles every school day, depending on my schedule.
-I'm not on any drugs (prescription or otherwise)

I considered that it could be a matter of stress from my college courses... but I'm not sure if that's the case.  I had a 3 week winter vacation (luckily nothing particularly stressful happened) and since that's most of a cycle I would expect that if stress has anything to do with my current lack of period that I would have gotten one over break.  I don't know, I could be wrong.

Is there anything I need to be worried about?  Any ideas what might be going on?

I think somethin is wrong with my body though and i'm always under high stress and pressure. Also i am sexual active so it might have somethin to do with that.. i really dont have a clue and it worries me so much...

No one is alone in this. I have the same problem. I don't drink, I am only twenty-two. I stay pretty fit and I eat the same things I have always. I haven't recieved my period in two months. I suffer from stomach pains, being tired all the time, joint swelling and pain. I have been to the doctor and they have yet to find the problem. I am 100% not Pregnant and they have ruled out anemic and several other ideas. They took Two blood test and two urine samples. They have reffered me to another doctor who hopefully can help.
