very worried bleeding during sex not after no pain

by jsparks, Feb 05, 2008 09:53AM
This is the first time this has happened. During sex last night with my boyfriend of 9 years I bled. There was no pain involved at all and right after it stopped. This was a significant amount of blood with cloting or what appeared to be tissue. I noticed that my last period was very heavy with a lot of large clots but didn't think much about it as it has happened before. I have 5 children and had my tubes tied 10 years ago after my 5th. We have never used any type of birth control as didn't feel we needed it. I have been reading through the questions and messages posted about this topic and it suggests everything from a pregnancy to infection to cervical cancer. I just stopped taking antibiotics for a UTI so could it really have been an infection? I did have pre-cancer cells that were found 18 years ago that the doctors used acid treatments to take care of and have been "cleared" each year since then. So should I take a pregnancy test even though my tubes are tied? Any help would be nice. I don't normally worry about things but this has me bothered greatly.

I doubt you are pregnant. Sounds to me like you may just be getting rid of old blood. I would not worry unless it happens more then once. If it does happen again, you should see your doctor.
