loss of sensation after caesarian delivery

by mankuzhysuji, Feb 06, 2008 05:52AM
I had lost the sensation of my lower limb (right) after my caesarian delivery . Anesthesian had given spinal anesthesia, while giving anesthesia I got shock like feeling on the same leg . After that I haven't get my recovery , I got pin prik like feeling starting from knee and it is passing down, after that I got severe pain on my leg and I couldn't walk, i couldn't put cloth over my leg, after 10 days neurologist said to take the MRI , the report said that (conus medullaris terminates at L1-L2 levels. it shows subtle hypointensity in T2W images suggestive of demyelination
impression: demyelination involving conus medullaris at L1 vertebral level)
doctor had prescribed five solumedrol (methyl prednisolone 1 g) injection, I took it. I was doing the physiotherapy also but I couldn't get my earlier strength.

After this I have consulted one more neurologist. He ask me to take EMG and ANA& ERS testing. ANA & ERS both are negative and EMG said that right H-reflex is absent.

My question is shall I get the sensation of my lower limb back (the incident was happened 6 months back )

Still I couldn't walk from my toe tip, not able to walk fast and run.
Some times I am feeling pain on my right side of the neck . I am not able to turn my neck right side, not able to move upwards.if i do some work (like washing cloths) with the right hand the pain will be too mutch. Is this related to the neurological problem?

Strength of my leg will improve or this is the permanent effect.
This effect is because of spinal anesthesia or because of procedural problem happened during spinal anesthesia (I don't have any other problem before my caesarian delivery , anesthesian said that while pricking i have moved so that it was happened, is this true?)

Should I have to take any other medication or therapy?.
