Diagnosis?

I've had chronic joint paint that is accompanied by heat and swelling for about 9 years. I also catch lot of colds and get sick easily, find weight gain difficult, have little energy, and have some stomach related issues. My doctor says that I have chronic fatigue syndrome, but hasn't given me a physical exam. She says that because nine years ago my ana scores came back normal. It doesn't sound right to me. How did long did it take you guys to get a diagnosis and what do you think I should do?
