Painful left lateral Nodules in Vaginal wall

by leigh8888, Feb 07, 2008 05:57AM
Thank you for taking my question. I am a 51 yrs. old... post-menopausal woman who has had all signs of poly-cystic disease since I was in my 20s. At the age of 28 I had to have my right ovary removed because of a strangulating tumor. Recently, I have been experiencing specific pain that is located around two small nodules on the lateral left (anterior) side of my vaginal wall. This pain comes and goes and has been with me for over six months now. I have experienced this condition intermittantly over the past 25 years also. Recently this condition has caused pain when I am walking or moving in certain ways. It also feels as though my left pelvic area is congested and swollen. I discussed this with my GYN, had him examine me so he could feel the nodules, but he said he did not know what the nodules were and left it at that suggesting no more diagnostics. He seems unwilling to diagnose this. Should I go back and insist on a further investigation of this? I want to find out what is causing my pain. (I do have a separate condition also.... a cyst, the size of a small egg, in my pelvic cavity that is not on the ovary... I have been recently screened for any chance of ovarian cancer and the tests came back negative. I have also had an ultra-sound that showed the lining of my uterus to be normal. This cyst does not appear to be painful and had made no indications of growing larger over a six month period).

Thank you for your advise in this matter.
- Leigh
