HARDEST DRUGS TO WITHDRAWL FROM!(What to expect)

by oxyaddict420, Feb 08, 2008 04:12PM
I have seen alot of people asking asking what to expect from withdrawls from a various amount of different Pain killers.. Below is a list of(MY EXPERIANCE, AND OPINION) of the worst drugs to W/D!

HARDEST TO COLD TURKEY WITHDRAW FROM WHEN ADDICTED--------------------------------->

1. METHADONE
2. PHENTANYL PATCHES
3. OXYCONTIN(chewed, crushed, broken, split, or snorted)
4. OXYCODONE IR ORAL(yes same active ingredient, for me not as bad as oxycontin)
5. MORPHINE ORAL
6. DILAUIDID
7. HYDROCODONE
8. CODIENE
9. DARVOCET(I forget the technical ingredient name)

I only left out the TRAMADOL because I have not EVER detoxed off of it.  I have heard that is is actually more dangerous than any of these listed above since it can cause siezers, an/or even DEATH from cold tukrey withdrawl..

As for the Withdrawl symptoms there can be ALOT and they can all vary based on your body, and your tolerance..  Here is a list of some of the general Physical withdrawl symptoms------>
*NO SLEEP
*EXTREME PAIN
*EXTREME SHAKING
*TREMORS
*RLS
*COLD SWEATS
*DIAREAH(The sh!ts)
*CREEPY CRAWLY SKIN
*BONES ACHE
These are just a few of the general symptoms found.. People will also be posting to add to, or give more detaild info on the Withdawls of quitting Cold Turkey!  PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ADD TO THIS LIST.. Also someone can list the Mental symptoms as well..  I think this just might be a general guide for people that I see asking alot of the same type questions. Here they can find some quick and hopefully accurate SYMPTOMS!

As tough as withdrawals are, getting clean is the easy part. Staying clean is the real work.

My meds were XANAX and this is a drug that you can't cold turkey from completely. It is a benzo and cold turkey can result in a seizure. A milder benzo of just 1.5 mg has been given to me instead for one month but I am obvioulsy W/D from the XANAX.

The W/D's from XANAX, so far have been;

PHYSICAL;

Fuzzy head (can't focus, can't walk, can't drive)
Dizzyness
Disorientation
Sickness ( vomit and diarreah)
Sweats (night and day)
Blisters (tongue and inside cheeks)
Skin (dry, itchy, rash)
Insomnia (can't sleep)
Influenza (flu like symptoms)
Aches
Breakouts (face and body)
No appetite (whatsoever)
Sensitivety to noise, light, and water on your skin
No sense of smell or taste

MENTAL/EMOTIONAL

Crying
Feeling weak (mentally/emotionally/mentally)
Stress
Anxiety
Depression
Rage (anger and irritability)

To: everyone that posted!
Thank you all so much for the added comments/info...  I also agree that staying clean once through the withdrawl is so much harder than thw ithdrawl itself(although when c/t w/d I might say different)lol...

So, this was only to try and be a type of information guide to help people that might have some basic questions about this.. I have been seeing more and more posts where people are asking these type of questions about how they are going to feel, what to expect and how long..  So if this post even helped 1 person out it was worth the 20 minutes it took to write it out..

BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE GETTING CLEAN, TRYING TO GET CLEAN..

AND EVEN MORE PREYERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE GOTTEN THROUGH THE HORRIBLE PHYSICAL STUFF AND NOW ARE ON THE STAYING CLEAN MISSION!!!

WE ALL *CAN BEAT THIS*

WE ALL WILL DO THIS

I HAVE FAITH

hey thanks for posting this, as I am like 20 days off the fentanyl  patch.  I was given this before surgery, I had the surgery on Dec 20th and when I took the patches off, I had the shakes really bad, the nausa, diahrra, but the mental depression and panic attacks lasted the most. the worse was over on about day 8. its very hard to come off the patch, I hope I will not ever need to go on it again.  I am still having problems with fear of the future, of needing more surgery, and going through pain and I fear taking any kind of drugs, its a very scarry thing for me still, is fear and panic part of this or is it a different issue?

Good info here.

I would put subutex at number two,

Also, forced withdrawal from methadone can cause suicidal impulses.

Yes, those are menatal symptoms as well.  They do get better over time.  Some say that taking vitimans, taking better care of your body and exersizing really helps ALOT!  It takes time for the brain to get back to normal from all of the abuse the pills have caused.. Stick with it, hang in there and it will get better

Does anyone know how long the w/d symptoms last from tramadol? Is it better to ween off since they can cause seizures? I really want to get off of them, but I'm afraid of what could happen to me. I've already had a couple of bad seizures ( I have been diagnosed with  a seizure disorder).
