Irregular Heartbeat and Hyper Thyroid

I have been diagnosed with hyperthyroid after waking up in the middle of the nite with a normal blood pressure but a pulse of 160. I was defibulated and came out OK the first time but the second time it happened 2 weeks later I did not respond to the same treatment and came out of the hospital 2 days later with doses of thyroid medication and bata blockers. I seem to get what feels like an irregular heartbeat in the middle of the day but my pulse rate is not accellerated. Is this unusual or dangerous?

I would see a cardiologist. Being on thyroid meds and beta blockers is unusual.
