Is it Cerebral Palsy???

by Cheyenne_08, Feb 08, 2008 10:20PM
My son is 7 months old and we go to the neurologist to hopefully get some answers. My son has had an eeg, MRI, baer, and 15 blood tests, testing all bodily function and checking for any dna mutation or chromomal abnormality....! He has a large head, wide set eyes, and one ear sets out wider and higher than the other. He is 2 months behind developmentally and has been in developmental therapy since he was 2 months old and we are starting occupational and physical therapy in a few weeks. Ashtyn has weakenss on his left side...he never grabs things with his left hand, drools out the left side of his mouth, and his left leg is pointed most of the time, but he will stand flat footed. He was born 2 months early with the cord around his neck 6 times....does this sound like Cerebral Palsy to any of you??? His therapist says it may be a mild form.

Hi.

Cerebral Palsy is a general term used to include any "non-progressive" brain dysfunction, which leads to some difficulty with the use of motor functions or other faculties. Your son can be said to have CP, looking at the symptoms he has. This condition is non progressive. He can only improve from here.

His symptoms, along with the body features hint towards some syndrome, which the neurologist will be able to diagnose.

Regards
