I was wrongly diagnosed with Addisons disease 2 years ago and was taking 30mg Hydrocortisone and Fludrocortisone until 3months ago when i stopped taking it after a gradual reduction in how much i took. I have Adrenal and Thyroid antibodies so eventually i will need treatment but my adrenal gland has not conked out yet. However, my hair is now falling out in huge handfulls, im exhausted and light headed all the time, cant concentrate on anything and feel constantly sick. I've completely lost faith in my doctor. My Cortisol level at 9.30am was 690 and my thyroid level was 14, does anyone know if these are normal levels, or what the normal levels are please?

I am not an expert but have done a lot of research lately on adrenal and thyroid issues (both of which I have). If you mean TSH level by saying thyroid level then your TSH level is too high. Normal range, depending on which range you believe is right these days, is generally either .3 to 3 or .5 to 5. A TSH of 14 means that you are hypo (low) thyroid and this could also explain the symptoms you are having. You need to have your doctor also do a T4 and T3 blood test. As for the cortisol level, if you really mean 690 and it is an am blood cortisol level, that is really high. How long had you been off the hydrocortisone before that test was done? A normal 8 am cortisol level is 6 to 23 mcg/dl and the level should go DOWN from there. I hope your doctor is following up on these levels you have. If not, you need a new doctor. Hope this was helpful
