Anyone prescribed Zoladex

by QLDGirl, Mar 25, 2007 12:00AM
Hello Ladies,

My Dr has put me on to Zoladex to induce menopause for endometriosis, fibriods and cysts.  I have to take the course for six months and it is like a surgical menopause.  Has anyone else been placed on this drug, and if so what symptoms have you experienced.

I only had the implant a few days ago and haven't noticed anything yet.

Thanks again for your responses

After excision of my endo cyst, I have been on Zoladex for the past one month, had a tiny period within 2 weeks, side effects arent very visible yet. I have acne and no pain. Hope you dont get many as well.

hiya i was on zoladex for 6months last year for severe endo i also had a large ovarian cyst removed last year thats when they found the endo i was in serious pain for 18 years got told it was all in my head i had a tah/and bso 7 weeks ago because the zoledex proved that my probs were hormone related the zoledex is not as bad as going through the surgical menopause but it can really effect you hun i had very bad aching joints on it couldnt sleep for the life of me and i lost my appetite soz for spelling and the weight gain nearly 2 stone and i was hardly eating since i had my hysterectomy ive lost 2 stone so when they say menopause makes you put on weight well not all women do i was only 32 and i know its early days but god i hope it gets better i hope i have helped you and not scared you at all takecare kyla

I was on zoladex and 2 1/2 years later i still have no period and cant have kids...... I have been told that surgery would have been a better option.... It may be only a 1% chance of youu getting how i am but if i knew then what i know now i would have gone surgery..... and you get pregnant easier after
