Am I On The Right Track?

by Lynne2206, Feb 11, 2008 01:06PM
Ive been trying to get answers as to whats going on and im hoping someone can help me?

Ive had a multi-cystic nodule ON my thyroid since my freshman year in HS (im now a senior) and the doctors cant tell me what it is and if its serious. Every now and then i get what i call a flare up, where my nodule stiffens and gets a smidge larger. It doesnt really hurt except for sometimes the first day it gets a smidge sore. Another thing is around the flare up i tend to get a cough and my voice starts to go hoarse. My body feels achy and its almost like my pulse elevates a little during the flare up as well. Sometimes its like i dont even want to get out of bed.

My thyroid levels have all come back normal and so have my ultrasounds. They also tell me my ultrasounds dont show any signs of cancerous cells and they dont want to result to an FNA or surgery. Ive recently been reading up about Hashimoto's and have read questions from people diagnosed with Hashimoto's and it sounds similar to what im going through, so im wondering if its possible that i should get tested for Hashimoto's and Grave's along with getting new tests done on my TSH T3 and T4 levels, considering they have never given me the numbers of my levels and they have never tested me for any autoimmune diseases!???

If anyone can help, please do!!! Its muchly appriciated!!!

~Lynne
