Help

I have a detached retina in my left eye.  I have undergone 2 surgeries (gas bubble and silicone oil).  After a recent visit to my eye doctor, he told me the surgery was still not successful due to the fact that the retina has a tear in it.  He said he could do another surgery, but would recommend I get a second opinion because it might not work.  He said he would gladly accept any advice from another doctor as he stumped about what to do.  My question is do you think the surgery would be wise. Also are there any retina specialists in Philadelphia I could go to and get the second opinion.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest you consider the retina surgeons at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.  You also can go to www.aao.org and find a retina MD near you.
