White Yellowy scab on lip

by yellowpaper, Feb 13, 2008 06:51PM
Yesterday i developed a small white blister on my lip.  last night i popped it and a white cream colored substance came out.  i cleaned it with paroxide.  it kind of came back, so i punctured it today during lunch and cleaned it again.  No substance this time just a little blood.  now five hours later it's a white yellowy scab on my lip.  kind of feels like l could rip it off like a scab but still has a bumpy feel not flat like a scab.   really tiny though...... no redness at all.   cold sore or herpes???? hopefully nothing.   what time period would it take to develop if it was one of those two.  Could i have gotten it from drinking from the same cup as someoneelse.  Because i have noticed from time to time that my brother and his wife will get cold sores on their lips.  Anyway, i was over their house exactly two weeks ago eating dinner and we decided to do some shots.  we had quite a few and we were all drinking out of the same glasses.  didn't notice anything on their lips at the time though. what could it be?  what should i do?

You should do nothing.  Please leave the bump alone and let it heal, which it will.  This does not sound like herpes--it sounds like a blocked pore or pimple that you've aggravated by playing with.  No harm done--just leave it alone.

Best.
