Benicar Side Effects

I have tried many BP medications with some bad results.  Thought we finally found one that worked.  The doctor gave me Benicar 20mg and it helped (so did losing 20 pounds) but my BP was still borderline.  Then he increased the Benicar to 40 mg.  I am having some strange issues that I think are from the Benicar.  When I awake from sleeping I have trouble opening my left eyelid.  Once I am up this goes away.  Now all of a sudden I cannot put the milk gallon in the refrigerator without using two hands.  The weakness is increasing, I cannot raise the jug as high as I could a couple of weeks ago.  It is the plain Benicar (white pill), so from reading up on the drug I'm still not sure it is from the med.  Went to the doctor and he couldn't find anything wrong, so I went away frustrated until I read about this tonight.  Also having some insomnia recently.

Tell your doctor of your side effects, he will switch you to another BP med.

Like all b.p meds they all have side effects and work diffrent on each person who takes them ! some people I call lucky, as they can take almost anything with No big or bad side effects from it.  Yet others like me ,cant take hardly anything without going into space! or climbing the walls from it. - benicar is known to have some wild side effects , such as Gas -bloating belly- uncontrolled passing gas!, and vision problems such as eye lids being lazy or not working well. blurred vision is another
as well - no energy or power ! it robbs you of normal energy or power
you had , no get up and go..  it got up and went with the benicar  and other meds for b.p.     its best to ask your Doctor to take you off it, asap
and switch to something that isnt so harsh on you ! You might even ask the Doctor , to test you first, when taking the new medication for problems.. if he has a heart, and time the doctor should do that..
it will help you in the long run , in finding something that works good
with less side effects.. but beaware !  99.9 % of all b.p meds all have side effects !   good luck !  and best wishes healthwise..

I've been on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 for 3 years, it's the only BP med I've been on and it has worked wonders with no side effects. My BP is down to 110/70 from 150/90 and as I said, I have had absolutely no side effects to date. For me, it's a great med, but maybe not for you. There are many to choose from, just keep working with your doctor to find the one that works best for your situation.

Good Luck,

Jon
