Who me?

by Bonita_Linda, Feb 14, 2008 03:39PM
I was just dianosed with Uterine Cancer. My Dr. told me I am in the early stage, and that I need a Hysterectomy "No Problem" However later he called and told me my ST Scan shows that my pancreas is enlarged. I went on line and read up on this NOT GOOD. I don't have any of the symtems and he said most likely it's not cancer but he was going to have a general surgeon present when I have the hysterectomy. I had my gall bladder removed 1 year ago. Anybody got advise?

Hi Bonita-Linda,  I have been where you are about to go. I have had uterine cancer. I had a total hyst 5 months ago. The cancer was contained to the uterus only, but I asked for a complete hyst.. Didn't wan't to take any chances. I am sure the doctor would have done the complete hyst when he got in there anyway, but he told me he would like to save the ovaries. I also had my gall bladder removed, a year ago. But that was a completely different story... that went when I had a liver transplant. As far as my pancreas it is o.k.. It sounds like you will be alright after the surgery...since the cancer is in the early stage. But be ready for them to suggest chemo.. They wanted me to take chemo., I didn't because it can damage the liver and I didn't want to do that right after a transplant. If it had not been contained maybe I would have felt different. Anyway I hope I have helped some. Take Care, Kande
