Numbness in right arm

by TammyRenee, Feb 16, 2008 11:10AM
I am a healthy 34 year old female who recently began a physically strenuous new job.  For the past week my right arm has started going numb when I use it.  Anytime the arm is bent, even the slightest bit, it goes numb from my shoulder all the way down to my little finger.  There are very few options for getting comfortable when I sleep either.  Starting this morning, I have been experiencing increased weakness in my right hand that comes and goes.  I am starting to get very scared so please help me.

Hello.

Can you consult a Neurologist soon ? It seems to be related to either a nerve entrapment or a blood circulation problem. If the skin of your hand gets pale, you can safely consider this as a blood circulation problem. If not, neuropathy is a possibility.

Your strenuous job may have been the culprit. Do you recall any injury or any sudden jerk or pain you had during the job ?

There is no alternative to a clinical examination. Please consult a Neurologist and keep me informed.

Regards
