Hi all.I am 57
I have been told I have Atrial Fibrillation and Eptopic Beats after 2 years , I have been on Atnolol,Bisprolol, Verapimil, and now Metoprolol, some relief on verapimil, I have a slow Heart rate now in 50 to 60 beats per min but have dificulty getting a wrist reading with a wrist monitor due to irregular Beats,I get dizzy spells on Metoprolol which come out of the blue and palpitations.
I am waiting for more test i.e. stress test and another ultra sound, but I am not keen on the Drugs the Hospital are talking about SOLTALOL and WARFRIN .
I felt great and was fit until this condition came out of the blue in the early hours of a Sunday morning 2 years ago now I feel old and rough most days.
can anybody help with advise or is suffering with the same condition.
regards
Roland

I have atrial fibrillation.. I have been on Digoxin, Flecanaide and sotolol. The sotolol worked really good for me  for a while and then quit working. the digoxin made my heart flutter so bad i had to sleep sitting up.. so i took myself off of that. TheFlecanaide made me feel so very sick..I am going in to have the ablation surgery in April to get rid of the aib. They want you to take the warfin (rat poison) to thin your blood so you dont hve a stroke.  I use flax seed oil and asprin to thin my blood.  I take Atavin and Xxanax when i go into afib and it gets me out of it in about an hour. They are setatives and it relaxes your body including your heart. Ask your doctor about it. I also take 600 mg of Magnesium. If i dont take the mag i have more episodes. I also make sure i get potassium every day. you need a good balance of both for your heart to beat properly. I have to take hydrocloric acid also to be able to absorb my minerals as my stomach doesnt make enough. (ava at the health food store)  i also take a digestive enzyme from enzemedica before every meal, and i stay away from anything with msg as those seem to trigger some attacks. If the meds are making you feel bad talk to your doctor, they are not supposed to make you feel bad and there are lots to choose from.  Good luck and i hope you feel better.
