Hard palate scarring

I had a gun graft done probably 10 years ago now.  the donor site on the roof of my mouth never healed right.  The donor area covered almost the entire left side of the hard palate and there was one little spot toward the front where the dentist cut WAY too deep (that spot took about 3 months to heal).  Anyway, when I told my dentist that I had scar tissue on the roof of my mouth, he seemed really surprised.  The roof of my mouth is uneven, there is like a little hill on that side, and it doesn't hurt, but it's just annoying, something that I notice every day.  How abnormal is this and is there anything that can be done about it?  It's been that way for years, so I guess I can live with it, but I still wanted to ask.

I am not a periodontist and have not placed or harvest grafts. If the palate is bothering you I would consult another periodontist for the possibility of a graft to fill in the area of your palate.
