TB Testing

by jchang17, Feb 19, 2008 11:29PM
I recently had a physical exam so that I can apply to nursing school. I tested positive on my TB test so I got a chest x-ray done and that came out negative. The thing is that my family doctor wants me to go see a pulmonologist. Should I or should I not. I know tons of people who have had positive TB tests and negative chest x-rays and their doctors let it go at that. Also, this doctors office likes you get get alot of stuff done. like I'm taking accutane for acne and while I'm on it I have to choose two forms of birth control or stay abstinence. And this family doctors was like "well i'd like you to be on some kind of birth control pill just in case you know, you can get raped or something." Okay, i'm kinda like why are you questioning my dermatologist who is making sure that i dont get pregnant with a urine test and a blood test every month. also the doctor was like "i would really like you to get the guardisil immunization." i'm kinda like "how much more money do you want to rip off of me?" should i or should i not get the second opinion about the TB test result. I really dont feel like there is the need for it since my chest x-ray came out negative. i feel that it is a unnessesary waste of time and money just to make this doctor happy.
