This discussion is related to mysterious irritation of urethra.
I've been having the same problems. I've been treated for a UTI infection five times since september and have self treated a few more times since then too. The antibiotics don't really seem to help and the symtpoms come back as soon as I have intercourse. When yours return is it related to intercourse also? My husband and I have both been screened for every std and have none. I'm thinking it's just urethral irritation related to sex, but why now? It doesn't really make sense. We've discussed the possibility that there might be a bacterial infection due to an anerobic bacteria which would need to be treated empirically so that is the route we're trying next. I have my doubts about this - if I had a bacterial infection it would flare up at any time and not just within 24 hours of having sex.
