Visual Concerns

by Chevelle, Feb 20, 2008 08:29AM
I'm not sure if I'm in the right place or not. I am having extreme difficulty concentrating on what I am doing because my vision doesn't seem to be working properly. I feel as if I am constantly spinning, and things will move in and then away from me. I have a headache that started three or four days ago, and doesn't go away. It will lighten up for a little while but come back with horribly sharp pains. My vision also seems to be leaving at random points in the day. I can feel this before it happens, it is almost as if I am going to pass out but only my vision goes away. I can stand, hold conversations, and move well enough, but I cannot see. Sometimes when this is happening I get a bright white light, as if my pupils are enlarging, or I get a total eclipse as if my pupils are suddenly really small. I had a spinal tap done in 1998 and experienced some of these symptoms soon after but was told it was nothing they could find. Now at 20, I seem to be getting these "episodes" more often and worse. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Hi Chevelle,

I am 25 and I am having something similar to me. I am a graphic designer so I thought maybe it was from me looking at the computer too much. I also take a lot of Ibuprofen which I heard can cause sun/light sensitivities. I am however experiencing it more frequently, even at night. I have horrible headaches and my eyes when feeling sore, get heard like rocks, and hurt very bad when I touch them.

Do you experience any pain? Headaches, or any other aches? I am trying to get an appointment with a Neurologist. I tried some Lyrica, and it helped a little, I was able to take a lot less ibuprofen.
