Groin Strain or STD?

by idiotincali, Feb 20, 2008 04:41PM
On 2/3/08 I had unprotected fellatio performed on me for 20 minutes by someone attending a convention from out of town. She did have have any sores and visible cuts on or around her mouth.

The next morning I started experiencing a pain which I felt was coming from my right testicle. It went away quite quickly. Over the last couple of weeks, I have started to feel a very dull pain in the groin area on top of my right leg. It is not stopping me from working out (I just started to cycle 20 miles a day) -- I can't even feel the pain when I run.

I can, however, feel the pain when I'm sitting at my desk, foot firmly on the floor, and I move my knee all the way to the right. The pain is at the top of my leg and feels like it might be muscular - it's nowhere near the testicular area.

I'm thinking that since I became conscious of this problem only a few hours after the exposure, that it's just anxiety. I do not have any swelling, lumps, rashs, redness, bumps. The area is not tender to touch - it feels fine.

Does this sound like an STD to you or just a regular muscle strain/groin pull? If the former, what kind of things might it be; if the latter, I imagine it'll just clear up in a few weeks.

Thanks

This is most unlikely to be an STD. Besides the fact that there are no lesions, lumps or bumps, there are other inconsistencies as well.  For instance STD symptoms would not start so soon after your encounter. Secondly, the location, in the absence of swelling or a sore is also inconsistent with STD.  Finally, the symptoms you describe just do not match up well with STDs.  This will likely clear up on its own.  If not, you should see a health care provider but whatever you do, do not worry about STD.  It is not.  EWH
