fundoplication

my son is 12 years old.  He had a fundoplication surgery at the age of 11 months he could not keep is food down so his doctor perform this surgery.  is it possible to reverse this surgery my son is so tiny he is 74 pounds he is often upset because he has hardly any weight on him.

Hi Tamathia,
The junction between the esophagus and the stomach might be too tight preventing the food to get in to the stomach resulting in failure to gain weight. But this produces additional symptoms like vomiting, chest discomfort etc.

Esophageal manometry can be done to assess the status of it before deciding further course of treatment.
